Meet Dr. Sierra Lee
Your anxiety expert.
I’m an Arizona-based psychologist who loves working with children, teens, and young adults
Why I Do This Work:
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is hearing about each new “brave” thing a child has done, moments that may seem small to others, but represent meaningful growth and confidence.
I’ve always been drawn to working with children and families, especially those navigating anxiety.
Too often, I see children whose fears begin to take over, keeping them from speaking up in class, making friends, or trying new things. Anxiety can quietly limit a child’s world during the very years when they should be building confidence and exploring who they are.
My goal is to help children feel free to enjoy their childhood, develop strong self-esteem, and learn that they are capable of facing challenges, even when things feel uncomfortable.
I also deeply value working with families. Supporting a child means supporting the system around them, and I enjoy being a collaborative, trusted part of that team.
How I work
Therapy with me is personalized and engaging.
I use evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM). These approaches are designed not just to reduce symptoms, but to help clients build confidence and independence over time.
With younger children, sessions are engaging and interactive, often incorporating play-based techniques including games and activities to make learning feel natural and enjoyable.
Parents are an important part of the process. I provide clear, practical strategies you can use at home, and offer dedicated parent sessions when more in-depth support is helpful. My goal is for you to feel confident in how to support your child between sessions.
For teens and young adults, I take a collaborative and respectful approach, helping them build insight, develop coping tools, and strengthen their ability to advocate for themselves. I aim to meet them where they are and support their growing independence.
What makes my practice different…
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I bring a depth of training in child development and mental health that allows me to look at the full picture, not just symptoms.
In addition to treating anxiety-related concerns, I’m attentive to factors such as ADHD, autism, and learning differences that may be influencing a child’s experience. When needed, I can help guide families toward appropriate evaluations and ensure that treatment is aligned with each child’s unique needs.
I take an individualized approach to therapy. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I adapt treatment based on the child or client in front of me, including what motivates them, what challenges them, and what will help them succeed.
